Feed animals, jump, play and let off steam in our Gloucester farm park

Countryside Adventure is our brilliant farm park, jam-packed with everything you need for a fun family day out in Gloucester; from jumping pillows and quad trains to mini golf and an animal trail.

The farm park is open every weekend from February half term to late November, with special seasonal events running in all the school holidays too.

Discover what’s happening when on our handy events page here. You’ll find out all about our spooooky autumn festival Spookyard, our much adored (and relied on!) Big Summer Blowout, our Easter Eggstravaganza, and our wonderfully “wild” event, It May Be Wild!

A cost-effective family day out in Gloucester: prices and discounts

Everyone loves a fun family day out in Gloucester together, but less so when you’ve got astronomical entry costs to deal with, or prices to pay once you’ve got inside. In Countryside Adventure, your entry ticket gains you access to everything inside (apart from the occasional optional activity at some of our seasonal events, like face painting and crafts).

Our pricing changes a little during the holidays, so that we can add extras into the mix, like animal shows, dinos, visits from famous TV characters, and paid actors. Our standard entry prices are low, and you’ll always save money when you book your entry ahead of your visit online. And for our school holiday events, you’ll save an extra £2pp when you book during our Earlybird period. The Earlybird pricing window ends two weeks before a special event starts, so do book early to guarantee entry and save yourself £4pp off our on-the-day gate prices!

Find out more about discounts here.

Pick your own – a recipe for a fun family day out in Gloucester

At certain times of year, families can top off their wholesome day out with a spot of pick your own in our dedicated PYO fields. In the summer, our strawberry patch opens from mid-June to late August, while our sunflower field opens during the school summer holidays. Entry to both is free, we just ask that you book your free picking slot online so we know you’re coming. Opening times can be sporadic, so by booking you’ll know when to come too! Click here to find out more about strawberry PYO in Gloucester, or click here for sunflower PYO.

If you start early in Countryside Adventure, you should have time for a spot of strawberry or sunflower picking after your visit – why not tack on a trip to the PYO fields after a play in the farm park?!

Pumpkin PYO in Gloucester, and Pumpkins After Dark

The PYO scene changes as the days get shorter – introducing our much-loved pumpkin patch! It’s a real Gloucester family day out in the pumpkin patch, where we grow thousands of pumpkins ourselves. In there, you’ve got heaps of opportunities for amazing photographs, making your experience truly unforgettable.

Every weekend throughout October and all through October half term, our daytime Pumpkin PYO patch opens and families come to choose the perfect pumpkin for their front doorstep. Then by night, on selected dates, the patch opens after dark! On the menu? Live music, fire dancers, great food and thousands more pumpkins.

There’s a roomy covered seating area where you can pick up a snack, a hot drink or an artisan street food style meal from our carefully chosen independent traders to keep those energy levels up. And in the evenings, the bar will be open too!

Family days out in Gloucester at Over Farm: need-to-know FAQs

Got more questions ahead of your visit? Head to our FAQs page here – or click here for help planning your day.

We love to see your doggos in Over Farm Market, though we do ask that you don’t bring them into the café as it’s quite small, nor to Countryside Adventure where lots of little people take centre stage.

Yep! There’s plenty of parking just next to the shop, and loads next to Countryside Adventure too. You’re never too far from your car, so you can quickly pop back for that pack of wipes you forgot!

Our farm shop, Over Farm Market, is totally step-free and suitable for wheelchairs, and we’ve got a disabled toilet accessible from the car park. Things are a little different over in our farm park, Countryside Adventure, where the nature of our site can present some challenges for wheelchair users. There’s gravel in some places, with some uneven paths and a lot of grass. The majority of heavy duty and electric wheelchair users say they can navigate the site well, but lighter-weight push-type wheelchairs can get stuck from time to time. We currently only have port-a-loos (including one accessible loo) in the farm park too, as we’re still new and investing back into the park where we can. A loo block with disabled toilet is top of our agenda, just as soon as we can afford it! As for our pumpkin patch, it can get very muddy and our paths can’t currently support wheelchairs or prams.

Nope! If your baby isn’t walking yet, please don’t worry about booking PYO tickets for them. You might like to put them in a carrier for a stomp around the PYO patches though – they’re unsuitable for prams and we don’t want your arms to get tired!

There’s a baby changing facility within the accessible port-a-loo in the farm park and pumpkin patch, and in the disabled toilet in Over Farm Market too. We’re a breastfeeding friendly site – please don’t hesitate to feed anywhere you like, apart from around the animal trail, where no eating or drinking is allowed either, for hygiene reasons! Do ask a member of our catering staff if you need any hot water to warm bottles too. We’re here to help!
